Arrival

8 am  Wednesday morning.  The churchbells are ringing from the end of Drønning Elisabeth's Alle.  Here we are back in Denmark.  The coffee is brewing and I have fresh rye bread from Erik's bakery, one of the best in Copenhagen, just down the street.   I arrived yesterday afternoon.  Nat and Mona met me at the airport with my heavy duffel bags (they weighed-in exactly at 23 kg, the max allowed)  and bike in a box.  Not a bad flight as I managed to sleep most of the way in order for this jet lag to have to as little effect on me as possible.  The apartment in the top floor of our friends' house on Amager (a neighborhood in Copenhagen) is delightful.  The deck off the living room lets in a lot of light.  Two bedrooms, bath (quite a bit larger than the one we had last time as many of you would remember), small galley kitchen.  Photos coming soon.  Well furnished and cozy.  Even comes with a TV with 5 channels for us non cable types.  I am off to the visa offices to see if I can be a legal immigrant for the year.  Wish me luck

  2. Hello Anne and Nhat... so fun to read your blog and see the pics of your sweet apt. Eric, Mary, Coop and I are having some olives on the deck... ok beer and cheese and crackers. It has been a warm, humid and beautiful few days here. Grace looks good, Coop turned 30 on Thursday. I was 30 plus a month... when he was born. Great memories. Work is tough... the week was grueling and rugged after my teacher friend died last Sunday after only being ill for a short while. School was so sad but we managed to keep going. The gathering for her was at sunset last night. Shocking and overwhelming.
I am enjoying thinking of you biking and visiting old friends. Til next time. keep writing. It is so fun to read about your adventures.
